Oda Nobunaga
Oda Nobunaga (1534–1582) was a daimyo of the Sengoku period from Owari province. After defeating Imagawa Yoshimoto at the Battle of Okehazama in 1560, he rapidly expanded his power and pursued the unification of the realm under the banner of "Tenka Fubu." He is also known for innovative policies such as free markets (rakuichi rakuza) and cadastral surveys, but was killed by his retainer Akechi Mitsuhide in the Honnō-ji Incident of 1582.
