Yamato Takeru
Yamato Takeru is a legendary hero appearing in Japan’s ancient chronicles, said to have been a son of the twelfth emperor, Keikō. He is said to have subdued rival powers across the land through campaigns to the west and east, and is famous for the episode in which, during his eastern campaign, he escaped a dire situation using the Kusanagi sword given to him by his aunt Yamato-hime. He is said to have died at Nobono from wounds suffered in a clash with the deity of Mount Ibuki.
