Atsuta Shrine

Atsuta Shrine

愛知県名古屋市熱田区神宮1丁目1-1

A shrine enshrining the Kusanagi sword, one of Japan’s Three Sacred Treasures. Said to have been founded when Miyazu-hime, consort of Yamato Takeru, enshrined the sword here, it holds a rank second only to Ise Grand Shrine. Within the grounds stands the "Nobunaga Wall," said to have been dedicated by Oda Nobunaga in gratitude for his victory at Okehazama.
